AULDEC Solutions provided their services to Anglo Gold Ashanti at Tropicana Gold Mine to carry out the installation and testing of underground mining substations and HV cabling.
Over 1.8km of 3 core 185mm² HV cable was installed in the mine to the 3MVA and 2MVA skid-mounted substations. Transportation, installation, and pre-commissioning of the 3 substations and single RMU were completed, 11kv 800A bolted coupler terminations and inline joins were made and tested. Auldec delivered this turnkey project to AGA, including a complete substation fit-out.
Being self-sufficient, AULDEC provided all the machinery and equipment required for the job and a team with a strong underground experience, confident to deliver the project safely, on time and on budget. AULDEC enjoyed a healthy working relationship with AGA and the Macmahon mining production and development teams to coordinate the works.
