ConocoPhillips APLNG | Bus Duct Installation & Repairs

SCOPE

AULDEC Solutions had been referred to APLNG ConocoPhillips by GLNG Santos for their meticulous devotion to the installations of resin-encapsulated bus ducts, testing & commissioning and for the deconstruction & repairs of existing bus duct installations.

Two separate outdoor installations of resin-encapsulated bus ducts had failed at the Curtis Island Upstream facility. AULDEC was tasked with the replacement of all damaged sections of both installations. The first 2500A 690V system consists of 2 bus duct sections, and the second 4000A 400V system consists of 9 bus duct sections.

Deconstruction of the jointing plates has to be carefully controlled due to the bus duct containing Refractive Ceramic Fibres (RCF) and Respirable Crystalline Silica (RCS). All personnel involved in the deconstruction works are provided with powered air-assisted BA PPE, and control of the hazardous waste is monitored.

AULDEC had completed the installation of both bus duct sections with ZERO injuries or exposure of RCF/RCS to personnel within the site. All quality assurance documents were provided to APLNG ConocoPhillips upon completion to ensure safe energisation.
